Yo, I peeped this game expecting crap and was really surprised to see how good it was! Very faithful to the original Duck Hunt while still capturing the look and feel of Flappy Birds. Very impressive.

This could have been a total hack job with a shitty shooting engine that combined the dog and flappy bird in front of some bare ass background, but you actually molded them into a way that seemed professional and clean. Can't stress this enough.

The game's difficulty seems appropriate in that anyone should be able to pick this game and understand what you're supposed to do while having medals that are next to impossible to get. Makes for a great experience that allows you to take as much away from it as you're willing to put in. I had some issues on some computers with the cursor seeming slow, but that's probably more of a problem with those computers and their browsers than with the game. On certain machines, this game runs like a dream.

Don't forget to compliment his hair, ZJ. I fucking will. Get off my back. Jesus, you're annoying. STOP IT. FUCK YOU. YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD. STOP THE VOICES. OH GOD THE VOICES. HELP HELP HELP HELP. ERROR ERROR ERROR.

The sound was also something I really enjoyed. You used sound effects from both games and I appreciated that touch. It really seemed like a child of both games. I wish there had been music in the game, but that's probably more of a criticism of the original games than your creation.

All and all, you did a great job with this and should be proud. This is a great game and worthy of being included in the Flappy Jam.

UNREAL.

Cygnus responds:

Awesome review. I was thinking about adding music, but decided against it to keep the spirit of the games as you said.

Simple, but very well done with a lot of humor and charm packed into a small package. You've made a game that I enjoyed playing multiple times despite having only two control options. Bravo!

molkman responds:

Awesome, glad you enjoyed. :)

This feels like something I would have played in the arcade in the 90s. I'm loving your dedication to your craft and I do feel like you're doing some positive for flash game development as a whole. Some of the models could look a bit better and the controls sometime give me fits, but overall this wasn't bad.

rumblesushi responds:

Yep you got it, 90's arcade racing games are our main inspiration. Having said that, this one is far less arcadey than our others, we tried something a bit more serious to suit F1 more.

Lmao. I love this. The fact that Tom is listed as "The Original Creator" is perfect. This is still a great game, even after all of these years.

FetusFulp responds:

i'm glad you noticed that. thank you very much.

A fun little widget. This had a lot of quirky charm and I enjoy having it up while I surf the net. Not bad, DI, not bad. How long do you see yourself updating this?

deathink responds:

thanks man, I would like to have 200 songs, but each update takes a couple hours, however I listen to this thing all the time, and I would really like to be able to work an 8 hour shit and not hear the same song twice, and if I could listen to this thing for 2 days in a row without hearing the same song twice that would be epic .

As a retro gamer, this was pure heaven to me. A great port of a classic NES game that had a great updated interface with medals. The music was just as I remembered it from back in the day and you managed to squeeze in tons of details, right down to the useless "leave" button. I can't tell you how much I love you for putting this up on here. I look forward to seeing your sequel!

P.S. I kinda hate you for making this, though. The death scene with the grim reaper used to give me terrible nightmares as a kid and you've reminded me of those horrible incidents. *Shudders*

larrymcduck responds:

Thanks for the response! I know exactly what you mean by the nightmares. That music and the reaper's face used to creep me out lol. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

AMAZING

This truly is NG's Super Smash Brothers equivalent. This game is epic and fun as Hell and worthy of all of the praise that it's gotten. My only complaint is that there isn't MORE characters and stages. In a perfect world, this thing would get DLC or updates on a regular basis...

NegativeONE responds:

It got a few character and level updates closer to its release, and that was pretty uncommon at the time. It's about 5 years old now, though. Can't update it forever.

Solid Awards Flash

I really enjoyed this. While this is essentially a copy and paste of your awards flash from the mid-year 2011 awards, this still looks and sounds great (thanks to Merlin and Ryanson, in part) and really makes something silly (like bbs awards) look important and awesome. I like how it scrolls and how you've provided links and apt descriptions.

It's a solid piece man. I just wish you could have added mini games (and possibly medals...) like you wanted to...

thinking-man responds:

I wish I could've, but I'm busy and lazy.

MMM...BAGELS.

Best game I've ever seen that stars me. Love you Jay!

Jay responds:

No prob, Bagel Master

Nice flash!

I can't stop watching this! The loop is amazing! What song is it using, though?
