Mario Tunes are a Dime a Dozen...
...but this one was awesome. i loved how the toon went from being calm and collected to crazy and hectic with the music matching up perfectly. I loved the simple "LazyMuffin" style of art and animation and was a big fan of the cameos and sight jokes (The escaped ape joke made me chuckle.). All and all, this was a pretty epic toon that I enjoyed watching. I really hope it wins an award for today, this week, and this month.
5'd and favorited!
Wow!
This was so good that I feel like buying two copies of the game!
The Perfect Origin Story
Fuck off "Batman Begins". This just took the cake as the best film that describes the origin of a larger than life figure. I love this.
Solid flash
There's a bunch of shitty flashes that hit the portal on Clock Day. This is definitely not one of them. I'm loving the style. Keep it up!
Thank you ZJ, i actually kinda hate most of the flash submissions that are submitted on Clock Day. Reasonly, i have more flash talent than StrawberryClock for some apparent reason. For a difference, i have added 2 B's instead of 1 B that StrawberryClock used.
You are actually good with this. You are like kinda a great guy to support this flash submission to me. I am glad that i also supported you to be on this flash submission. This is kinda like the best review ever. If only if i can keep this flash submission up for the fans of my profile and the other flashes that are blammed.
Thank god for you, you actually are like a great dude. Nice review. I wish you can make 2 flash submissions on Clock Day for having a great flash submission. This is a great review. Thank you for reviewing.
Thank you in advance for the front page!
THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT
A FUN ANIMATION ABOUT BREAKFAST. REMINDS ME AMERICA'S GLORY DAYS.
But seriously, I really liked this. Loved the easy going music that matched up with the animation. Felt a bit like Fantasia, which is awesome.
An enjoyable sprite movie
At a time where sprite flashes have become overdone and cliche, this was a breath of fresh air that was fun to watch. I was very impressed by the intro and its 3D look and how it all came together to look like a full-length motion picture.
The sprite work within this flash was pretty good as I expected with most people's pieces looking polished and fluid. I will admit that at some points within the cartoon, there was a black line that went across the screen that looked weird, but maybe that was a minor glitch or something that just had to be dealt with. It wasn't a huge flaw, but it was a detail that I noticed and I'm not an expert with these things at all.
The music and audio was done well and I enjoyed how a lot of Mario and Audio Portal tunes were used for this thing. It gave it a feeling that it really was a Newgrounds styled take on the Mario universe and I appreciated that. The blending of the two styles made for a thing that felt like authentic, but also spoke of the place it came from. That was pretty neat.
As far as the humor goes, some of the pieces worked and some of the pieces didn't. I absolutely loved the use of the Michael Scott audio as Mario screamed "No, God, No!" and how Scrunchie (That weird rainbow creature) chased Mario around. On the flip side, I wasn't horribly impressed with the finale piece because I felt like you guys had done the Luigi as a missile joke before and that you were really just repeating yourselves. All and all, though, I felt like this was like almost any sketch related comedy outing: You guys did a bunch of pieces/gags and several worked. In your case, thankfully, most of them worked, so that's something to be applauded.
So, as I mull over what to give this flash, I feel that a nine is a solid score. One can see that you guys clearly put your hearts and souls into this thing and that you have a passion for your work and as I said before: The animation, audio, and comedy were all up to par. However, there were some minor things like the barebones menu and that black line thing that stuck out in my mind as tiny little roadblocks to this being the definitive Mario cartoon. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you're a few little problems away from creating works that are on the level of someone who's super respected for sprite work (i.e. Alvin-Earthworm)
SO, in closing, I feel like all of you guys should feel proud of what you guys have produced. You guys all came together as a group of relatively unknown artists who collaborated with each other and used all of the resources available to you to make a stellar flash cartoon. And let's be honest, that's what NG is really about. Not some bigshot like Oney or Egoraptor making shorts for fanboys to jackoff over and 5 blindly, but you guys, working together to make something special.
Bravo, sirs, bravo. 5'd, favorited, liked on Facebook, and when you release the T-shirt in the Newgrounds store to go along with cartoon, I will gladly buy it. :D
Well it's been building up inside of me
For oh I don't know how long
I don't know why
But I keep thinking
Something's bound to go wrong
